THIS WEDNESDAY at 6p / Join us as we welcome back to the shop (all the way from Edinburgh) one of our favorite cookbook authors and all around incredible humans Sumayya Usmani! We are honored to be celebrating her new memoir Andaza: A Memoir of Food, Flavour and Freedom in the Pakistani Kitchen.  “This is my coming-of-age story, a story about how cooking offered strength in times of weakness and ease in times of sadness, and about how trusting my senses in the kitchen helped me to trust my intuition and equipped me with the confidence to navigate life’s challenges. It’s also a book that explores the hidden world of Pakistani women, based on several generations of my family and what the kitchen means to them.”   Tickets here.

 SAT JUN 10 / P O P    U P  Chef, writer, and friend of the shop Kate Ray is popping up and baking for a good cause! Come get a mushroom-based dessert and support an inclusive bakery in Kyiv actively giving away bread on Ukraine's front-line territories.

 WED JUN 21  / a u t h o r    e v e n t  Join us as we welcome wine maker and memoirist Rachel Signer to the shop! Publisher of Pipette Magazine and author of 2021's You Had Me At Pét-Nat, her memoir about natural winemaking was named one of the best wine books of 2021 by the NY Times and, given its release during the pandemic, we are finally getting to celebrate with her and her NY family, friends, and fans. 

 THUR JUN 22 / a u t h o r    e v e n t   *NEW DATE is here! Join us as we welcome an inspiring and sustainable chef, entrepreneur, and now cookbook author Homa Dashtaki to the shop!  The White Moustache Yogurt company founder is here to celebrate her elegant, personal new cookbook Yogurt & Whey: Recipes of an Iranian Immigrant Life. 

 WED JUN 28 / a u t h o r    e v e n t   Join us as we welcome author and professional taster Mandy Naglich to the shop to celebrate her new book How to Taste: A Guide to Discovering Flavor and Savoring Life. Expect fun stuff to taste!

  THUR JUN 29 / C O M M U N I T Y    Every six-ish weeks we read a new memoir, a collection of essays, novels, or anything else we find interesting that somehow, in a big or small way, relates to food. Then we discuss. Read through Midnight in Sicily by Peter Robb and join us IN PERSON in June.
