Archestratus, author of THE LIFE OF LUXURY, was an eater, a

cookbook author, a Sicilian, a poet, a free thinker, a rebel, a comic,

quite ancient and a total mystery. We conjure from him an offbeat meeting 

place strongly guided by his inner consciousness. He inspires us daily 

to keep our food and library simple, harmonious, of the upmost quality, and to “VALUE AS SHIT ALL SMALL FRY EXCEPT THE ATHENIAN KIND.”

We're thrilled, honored and grateful to be part of such a vibrant

community, to be a part of the independent bookselling world, and to 

serve our favorite foods. So come and browse our books on the fact and 

fiction of food. Sample our Sicilian baked goods, coffee, tea, beer 

and wine. Lounge in our ample space for classes, readings, screenings, 

tastings, performances, experiments, dinner parties, and book clubs.
