  TODAY IS NONNA's 102nd BIRTHDAY. 

 No. 2 →  This one is going to sell out, so we are pushing this up a lil early, and it's for the PASTRY FREAKS! Rose Wilde is an amazing pastry chef and author from the west coast who has called upon all the east coast cuties to bake up her menu (like Abi Balangit and Danielle of Win Son!) The evening will involve a moderated chat between her and award winning baker Caroline Schiff, a Q + A, signing, and the manga-ing of six different baked goods.

 M U S I C A   H A P P E N I N G SUN NOV 5 Violalia Duo (Laura Thompson + Hannah Selin) performs 20th- and 21st-century music for violin-viola duo by Bohuslav Martinu, Augusta Read Thomas, and Matthew Greenbaum–a longtime Greenpoint resident. Founded in 2021, the duo embraces the limber, conversational nature of their instrumentation, bringing musicality, curiosity, and a sense of humor to audiences in often-intimate concert settings. For this concert, we are joined by composer/songwriter Dave Ruder and his string trio.

  C O M M U N I T Y   M E D I T A T I O N SAT DEC 2 Vanessa will give a 15 to 20 minute talk about the connection between food and the present astrology. What ingredients can we call in and mangia during this powerful Sagittarius season? She will then, holding all this food wisdom in mind, lead a short 20ish-minute meditation. 

 A N O T H E R   B O O K   C L U B JAN/FEB 2024 We are partnering with writer Alicia Kennedy for her January/February pick from The Desk Book Club: The Desk Book Club will be a monthly space for discussion on four different food nonfiction books per year, ranging from memoir to reportage to, in some cases, more academic food studies work. Meetings will be held for Alicia's paid subscribers only.
