  There is a free community Scorpio season TEA meditation on SATURDAY morning led by local astrologer and writer Vanessa Hardy. Join us at 10a.  

 No. 2 →  THURSDAY (tomorrow): This is not to be missed, and yet we have lots of tickets left! Come, come. Christina is brilliant and will be presenting on Father Major Jealous Divine who founded the Peace Mission, an influential Harlem-based "cult" centered around food that held New Yorkers under his spell with his concepts of self-actualization, personal divinity, and Mutual Aid during the first half of the twentieth century. It's a twisty-turning tale with surprising connections to other infamous religious and cult leaders. Tix.  

 No. 3 →  WEDNESDAY (tonight):  Join us for cookbook club! Bring a dish from the book, or an Iranian dish, or an Iranian inspired dish, or a dish you love, or some strawberries or cheese bought five minutes before at the grocery store. Just come! It's all cuties and sweeties.  

No. 4  →  Come eat at Marlow & Sons this Saturday night from 6p to 10p! Imma (Paige) DJ-ing, and it's always a very relaxing time.

Join us as we welcome independent food historian and author of Holy Food: How Cults, Communes, and Religious Movements Influenced What We Eat -- An American History for an exploration of the influence of fringe religious and spiritual beliefs on modern American food culture.

  C O M M U N I T Y   M E D I T A T I O N SAT OCT 28  Vanessa will give a 15 to 20 minute talk about the connection between food and the present astrology. What ingredients can we call in and mangia during this powerful Scorpio season? She will then, holding all this food wisdom in mind, lead a short 20ish-minute meditation. 

 C O O K I N G   C L A S S FRI NOV 10   Learn to prepare a full seasonal Sicilian meal with the cook/owner of Archestratus Paige Lipari. Come ready to cook a bunch of dishes, stay long enough to mangia, and leave with some delicious recipes in hand. 

 B O O K B O O K   C L U B THUR NOV 16   Every six-ish weeks we read a new memoir, a collection of essays, novels, or anything else we find interesting that somehow, in a big or small way, relates to food. Then we discuss. Read through Centering by M.C. Richards and join us IN PERSON in November.
