A Special Vietnamese Dinner with Ha’s Đậc Biệt

Come join Anthony Ha + Sadie Mae Burns of Ha’s Đậc Biệt pop-up for a vibrant Vietnamese street-food inspired dinner!  From Ha’s Đậc Biệt: Ha’s Dac Biet!!!! We’re a little pop up that has been going on for about a year now. One day we bought an ice cream tricycle and started peddling around town, selling street food. We want Vietnamese food to feel the way it does in Vietnam - the lines of people, the mess, the smoke, the smell, the fish sauce soaking into the streets. Before summer comes around and the sidewalk gets cramped again, we want to cook a sit-down dinner of sorts, a family-style set menu, showcasing home food. Food that is best shared with a pot of rice.  $50, 7p

Each sommelier has his own routine designed to keep his palate alert and wine-ready. Michael gave up coffee. Kristie insisted on diluting hers with milk. Yannick drank his cold. A different Michael believed ice water was all he needed to jolt his taste buds into action. Paolo Basso, one-time champion and three-time runner up in the World's Best Sommelier Competition, swore by staying just a bit hungry at all times. Like the mightiest hunters of the animal kingdom, he insisted it made him like "a famished beast who smells his prey." —Bianca Bosker, Cork DorkFrom Cork Dork: A Wine-Fueled Adventure Among the Obsessive Sommeliers, Big Bottle Hunters, and Rogue Scientists Who Taught Me to Live for Taste by Bianca Bosker
