ART NOW ON VIEW / i n   F O O D S hu · mil · i · a · ting stutters an exasperated Gena Rowlands in the 1977 film Opening Night. The utterance seems to be caused by the producer attempting to close the curtain on her increasingly unhinged performance (the play she is acting in is currently in previews in New Haven). However, what she is really humiliated by is the fact that she has been forced to become publicly unhinged in order to find a way to inhabit the role of The Second Woman. Humiliation is what happens when you work things out in public.

  WED MAR 1 / C L U B  Every six-ish weeks we read a new memoir, a collection of essays, novels, or anything else we find interesting that somehow, in a big or small way, relates to food. Then we discuss. Read through What She Ate by Laura Shapiro and join us IN PERSON in March.

Expect snacks, a moderated conversation, a Q + A, and signing.
